Master help/Offers & changes

Price offers and changing terms

Here you'll see how to send the customer a clear price, when to request an extra amount and how to avoid misunderstandings.

Tip: write the offer so that anyone can easily understand what work it's about, what it costs and what terms are agreed.
Price offer

When and how to send the price to the customer

Send the price when the scope of work is clear and you can offer the customer clear terms.

  • Briefly write what's included in the price and what isn't.
  • If the price is final, state that directly.
  • If the price may change, explain what detail it depends on.
  • Record the time, place, price and main terms in the chat.
Change of terms

When to request an extra amount or change the terms

If extra work, new materials or more time became necessary during the work, explain the change clearly and calmly.

  • Give a specific reason; what changed and why the addition became necessary.
  • In the extra amount include only the new part, not the full price again.
  • If possible, add a photo or short explanation in the chat.
  • Don't send changes frequently and without grounds; it reduces trust.
A good message

What kind of message works best

One well-written message is much better than many short, unclear texts.

  • In one message write the key information: what's being done, when, where and what it costs.
  • Use short points so the customer can read easily.
  • If you don't know something, ask one or two specific questions and wait for the reply.
  • Don't overload the chat with extra text, repetition or unnecessary messages.
Rules

What is not allowed in the chat

For safety, all important agreements must stay in the StepHome chat.

  • Don't exchange a phone number, social media or other contact information.
  • Don't move the customer off the platform to agree.
  • Don't send extra repeated messages.
  • An agreement kept in the chat protects you during a dispute or misunderstanding.
